Education
The Education Program at Crossroads Farm at Grossmann’s,
a Project of Nassau Land Trust
Crossroads Farm is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for our children and their adult supervisors during our outdoor experiential learning. In light of the recent COVID-19 health crisis our staff will make safety our first priority by following mandatory and recommended best practices from the CDC, EPA and NYS Reopening guidelines while continuing to provide stimulating, interactive learning experiences for our guests. Our farm is an inviting, restorative, and special place.
Our commitment to your safety includes learning that takes place only outdoors while ensuring safe distancing. Visual markers posted around our farm indicate 6 feet distances. Our education staff will always wear masks when interacting with children. Children and their chaperones must bring masks and may be asked to put them on when social distancing cannot be maintained. We will practice appropriate hand washing and sharing protocols using New York State Reopening guidelines. High-touch areas and restroom facilities will be properly sanitized adhering to EPA guidelines.

Crossroads Farm is a NOFA certified organic non-profit farm. Our farm serves as a model not only for farm renewal but also for community and educational enhancement, activism and environmental awareness. Our experiential education program introduces children and adults to the world of nature and invites all to join in the activities that make the farm grow. This, as well as hands-on experiential learning is what makes our educational program unique. We strive to help cultivate a connection between people and nature that will be a seed for a lifetime of learning and a confidence in growing food and landscapes.
