The Sunshine Education Program at Crossroads Farm at Grossman’s,

a Project of Nassau Land Trust

Crossroads Farm is a NOFA certified organic non-profit farm. Our farm serves as a model not only for farm renewal but also for community and educational enhancement, activism and environmental awareness. Our experiential education program introduces children and adults to the world of nature and invites all to join in the activities that make the farm grow. This, as well as hands-on experiential learning is what makes our educational program unique. We strive to help cultivate a connection between people and nature that will be a seed for a lifetime of learning and a confidence in growing food and landscapes.

For Educators

  • Seed Saving (Fall)

  • Sow to Grow-series of 3 visits (Spring)

  • One day Field Trip or a series of visits

  • Young Farmers (Enrichment program)

Programs can be tailored to your curriculum/interests. A typical visit consists of a farm tour and a hands-on farm activity. The hands-on activity varies depending on the program, the season, and the changing daily needs of our working farm. Farm-to-School programs are also available.
