This Week at the Farm Stand and Market

Bee Friendly Day is this weekend!

We would love to share our passion about the honeybees with you this Saturday July 11th from 1 pm to 4 pm for our FREE awareness event to support the honeybees.

We will have presentations from our beekeeper, a local biologist, and our greenhouse manager. You will learn all about honeybees, the crisis they're facing, and how organic gardening can make the difference. We will also have plenty of fun activities for little ones, including story time, a bee dance game, bee's wax modeling, and a pollination experiment.

The Plovers have hatched!

A family of plovers recently created a nest in our raised bed plot to lay their eggs; we are happy to report that the babies have been born. We hope to continue to provide them with a natural home here at the farm.

Fresh from the farm:

Our own organic summer squash, zucchini, yellow fin squash, cucumbers, mulberries, carrots, kale, radishes, garlic scapes, and fresh cut bunches of sage, thyme, mint, basil, oregano, and lavendar.

Our tomatoes are coming in nicely!

We currently have our own organic cherry tomatoes in the store, but our many other varieties are growing well and will be available in abundance very soon.

Fresh from the greenhouse:

We are featuring mixed pots of vegetable and herb seedlings. We currently have several pots of basil mixed with different varieties of tomatoes, peppers, or both! If you haven't put in a garden this year, these will be perfect for you. They will look great on your patio or deck and the only maintainence they need is a little water.

Our farmer's market this week:

We will have our usual vendors this week selling homemade hummus and spreads, fresh and local honey, james, and preserves, pickles, assorted pound cakes, handmade soaps, natural energy bars, artisan breads and cheeses, and of course a variety of farm fresh produce from Sep's Family Farm and right here at Crossroads Farm.

New this week, we will be featuring a vendor from Lithology Brewing Company. They are a Long Island craft brewery and they'll be selling their 22oz bottles of LB IPA, Legal APA, and Sunrise Summer Ale.
