This Week at the Farm Stand and Market
It's tomato time!!!!!
We are currently in that perfect time of the season when tomatoes are in abundant supply. If you're looking to make a sauce, a salad, or even a sandwich, we have a great variety of tomatoes for you to choose from. We are offering our own organic cherry tomatoes, San Marzano tomatoes, roma tomatoes, iron lady tomatoes, German Johnson tomatoes, sunkist tomatoes, and yellow brandywine tomatoes. We also have conventional yellow tomatoes and yellow cherry tomatoes, as well as a selection of organic grape tomatoes and heirloom tomatoes from other farms.
Fresh from the farm:
This week we are offering our own organic swiss chard, red Russian kale, dino kale, summer squash, zucchini, string beans, fennel, cucumbers, and zapallito squash.
We also have a variety of farm fresh vegetables from other farms, providing organic produce from New York and elsewhere. These wonderful new veggies include red onions, sugar snap peas, orient charm eggplant, pea shoots, shishito peppers, romaine lettuce, mini savoy cabbage, jalapeno peppers, beets, green beans, jumbo yellow onions, yellow potatoes, red potatoes, and jumbo garnet yams.
We will also continue to sell local Long Island corn throughout the season!
Fresh from the greenhouse:
We are still offering a variety of seedlings of fresh vegetables and herbs for your home garden. We also have beautiful mixed pots of vegetable and herb seedlings-- perfect for a potted patio garden! You can also purchase several different kinds of flower items, including hanging baskets, potted arrangements, and flats of individuals flowers.
New to the farm stand:
It is finally summer harvesting time for our honeybees! Our beekeeper has brought in the year's first honey harvest from our busy little bees, and you can now purchase a jar of it at the farm stand. Also, this week we are offering a few exciting new products, including Maya Kaimal curry sauces, a sriracha variety of Hope hummus, and a new flavor of sauerkraut from Sauerkraut Seth's. We also are selling our own fresh cut flowers, arranged in lovely vases. And if you hadn't heard from last week, we are selling a few different farm-themed children's books as well as our large variety of children's toys and games and baby foods and snacks.
This week at the farmer's market:
This week's farmers market will feature our familiar vendors selling homemade hummus and scones, fresh and local honey, jams and spreads, pickled products, assorted pound cakes, handmade soaps, artisan cheeses, specialty breads, local Long Island craft beer, and of course a variety of fresh produce from Sep's Family Farm and right here at Crossroads Farm.
