Local fair at the Farmer's market and Folk festival

Last Saturday we kicked off our farmer's market season with new and old vendors as well as a food truck and live music. We welcomed back favorites like Miss Amy's, Sconehead's, Sep's farm as well as some new vendors like Mana sauces and bread from Cardinali bakery. As always these are the finest local vendors serving and selling their products to fellow Long Islanders. Come out this Saturday for an entertaining morning and stock up on your favorites or try something new.
Speaking of new, we are excited to be carrying a variety of new products this season. In addition to a variety of organic produce, we have in stock plain and maple flavored sheep's milk yogurt from Mowhawk Drumlin Creamery in Hudson NY. Sheep's milk is the creamiest of all of all milk. Sheep require only 100% grass, making them efficient producers. Sheep's milk is the highest in protein,b 12, folate and magnesium and has almost two times the amount of calcium than cow's milk. Sheep's milk is naturally homogenized making it easily digestible unlike cow's milk which can take up to two hours to digest. Cow's milk is also the third common allergy suffered by children.
Also new to the farm stand is Coastal Craft kombucha from Long Islands only kombucha brewery located in Oceanside. We have five flavors in stock, be sure to try the chamomile lavender and the pineapple hibiscus. For those not familiar with this fizzy refreshing beverage, kombucha is made from tea, sugar, bacteria and yeast. Known for it's high probiotic content, kombucha aids in digestion and gut health, detoxifies your liver and boosts your energy and immune system.
Don't forget to come to our annual Folk Festival this Sunday! Bring a chair or a blanket and get cozy listening to great music performed by Tom Chapin, Gathering time, Mara Levine and more. Tickets in advance are $20, ticket prices at the door are:
